Ballad For The Bedwetters

Walking and talking in rhythm with the beat of the drum
The symphony don't sound familiar to what I'm used to
But the band must play on, in the score is where the key change lies
Some days it's just so difficult to harmonise

CHORUS
It's like for 24 years I've had my eyes wide shut to this film that I'm starring in
And no army of ignorance of or spiritual faux pas
Would have questioned the price that we paid to get in
Oh you can't hide forever, we've all got the goods to declare
Then out of the blue the sky will fall through and you'll see what's really there

Standing in the line of fire with my hands held up high over my head
I'm teaching bullets to dance in my palms like butterflies
This is the height of all delusion where convictions won't last for an hour
It's like that heap of white powder you're convinced is cocaine
Later turns out to be flour

CHORUS

there's a lot to be said for the living dead for the clowns and for the bedwetters
For the ones who are lost on 19 across they've got the right words
Just not enough letters
Breathe in your inconvenience and shout out with joy
I've got no more strings I'm a real boy
